  • 12 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic and spicy Italian sausage; cook until the sausage is browned.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Let simmer for 5–10 minutes.
