Shepherd’s Pie is a comforting dish that combines rich flavors with a hearty filling. This version features turkey bacon and chicken ham, offering a delightful twist on a classic recipe.

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 strips turkey bacon
  • 1 cup diced chicken ham
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, and corn)
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then remove and chop.
  3. Add ground turkey to the skillet, and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in chicken ham, mixed vegetables, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until heated through.
  5. Spread the turkey mixture in the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Top with mashed potatoes, spreading evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the potatoes are golden brown.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • This dish can be made ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
  • Feel free to add your favorite vegetables.
