Mozzarella Chicken in Basil Cream Sauce

  • 4 boneless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add minced garlic, cooking until fragrant.
  3. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet, cooking until browned on both sides.
  4. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish, pour the heavy cream over it, and top with mozzarella cheese.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, marinate the chicken in olive oil, garlic, and herbs for at least an hour before cooking.
