  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain.
  3. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  4. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, basil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spread a layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Layer three noodles, half the ricotta mixture, half the beef, a third of the mozzarella, and more marinara sauce.
  7. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles and remaining sauce.
  8. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly.
