  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a large Dutch oven, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Brown the beef chuck roast on all sides.
  4. Pour in the beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger.
  5. Add the green onions, carrot, and chopped onion.
  6. Cover and transfer to the oven.
  7. Cook for 3 to 4 hours, or until the meat is tender.
  8. Remove from the oven and let rest before slicing.

Notes

  • For thicker gravy, remove the meat and simmer the sauce on the stove until it thickens.
