  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.
  6. Stir in the oats and raisins until evenly combined.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool.
  9. For the icing, mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth, drizzle over cooled cookies.

Notes

  • For a chewier cookie, add an extra egg yolk.
  • Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies.
