Hamburger Potato Casserole

A hearty and delicious casserole made with hamburger meat and potatoes, perfect for family dinners.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, then drain the fat.
  3. In a baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by the ground beef and half of the cheese.
  4. Repeat the layers, adding the remaining potatoes, then the rest of the cheese.
  5. In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the casserole.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden brown.

Notes

  • For a bit of spice, add some chopped jalapeños to the beef.
  • Feel free to substitute ground turkey for a lighter version.
