- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, then drain the fat.
- In a baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by the ground beef and half of the cheese.
- Repeat the layers, adding the remaining potatoes, then the rest of the cheese.
- In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the casserole.
- Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden brown.
Notes
- For a bit of spice, add some chopped jalapeños to the beef.
- Feel free to substitute ground turkey for a lighter version.
