- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 4 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, vegetable oil, and egg.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in the dark chocolate chips and crumbled turkey bacon.
- Fill each muffin liner about 2/3 full with the batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
