Creamy Caramelized Onion Pasta

A deliciously creamy pasta dish featuring caramelized onions and savory turkey bacon.

  • 8 ounces pasta of choice
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add onions and cook, stirring frequently, until caramelized, about 20 minutes.
  3. Add the chopped turkey bacon to the skillet, and cook until crispy.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat with the sauce.
  6. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

  • For a vegetarian version, omit turkey bacon or substitute with mushrooms.
