Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups cherry pie filling
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add softened butter, egg, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix well.
  4. Press half of the mixture into a greased 9×9 inch baking pan.
  5. Spread cherry pie filling over the mixture in the pan.
  6. Crumble the remaining dough on top of the cherry filling.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown.
  8. Allow cooling before slicing into bars.
