- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and spices. Create a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, eggs, and melted butter.
- Knead the dough until smooth, then let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices. Place in a greased baking pan and let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar with a splash of milk to make a glaze and drizzle over warm rolls.
