Cantonese Chow Mein

A flavorful Cantonese Chow Mein recipe featuring turkey bacon.

  • 8 ounces chow mein noodles
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup bean sprouts
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Cook the chow mein noodles according to package instructions, then drain.
  2. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add turkey bacon and cook until crispy, then remove and chop.
  3. Add garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds.
  4. Stir in bell pepper, carrot, and bean sprouts. Cook for 2-3 minutes until tender.
  5. Add the cooked noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and chopped turkey bacon. Toss to combine and heat through.
  6. Garnish with green onions and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, omit turkey bacon and use additional vegetables.
  • Adjust soy sauce to taste.
