Authentic Lo Mein

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces lo mein noodles
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup bean sprouts
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a wok or large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the sliced bell peppers, carrots, and onions to the pan and stir-fry for about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry for an additional minute.
  5. Stir in the cooked lo mein noodles, soy sauce, and sesame oil, tossing everything together.
  6. Finally, add the bean sprouts and green onions, cooking for another 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to add your favorite protein such as chicken, beef, or tofu.
  • For added flavor, marinate the protein in soy sauce before cooking.
